Connect ADSL Modem to your PC through Ethernet/USB
Configure TCP/IP setting of the LAN card/USB
IP addres : 192.168.1.10
Mask :255.255.255.0
Default gateway : 192.168.1.1
Open the browser and type the url http://192.168.1.1
A new dialog box appears prompting you to input the user name and password required to access the Web-based configuration manager.
Use the default user name admin and password admin for first setup.
Select Interface Setup
Click on Internet. Select Virtual Circuit as PVC0
Select VPI : 0 & VCI : 35
ATM Qos as UBR
In encapsulation select ISP as PPPoE/PPPoA
In PPPoE/PPPoA type your Username password as given by BSNL, select encapsulation as PPPoE LLC,Bridge Interface : Deactivated
Select Connection : Always On
Get IP address : Dynamic , NAT : Enable, Default Route : Yes, TCP MTU OPtion : 1500 bytes
Dynamic Route : RIP2-B, Direction : Both, Multicast : Disable
Click on Save
Click on Maintenance > SysRestart > select Current Setting, Click on Restart
Please note that the wireless security is most important to prevent any unauthorized access to/through your modem although LAN connectivity is used
How to configure Configure Wi-Fi security ?
Click on Interface Setup
Select Wireless
Select authentication type as eg WEP-64 Bits
Enter exactly 5 characters or 10 hexadecimal digits ("0-9", "A-F") preceded by 0x in Key#1(eg.0xa1b2c3a4a5)
Keep other values as it is & click on Save
You can also use MAC address Filter......
In wireless MAC adress filter select Active as Activated & by giving the mac address of you own m/c.
Click on Maintenance > SysRestart > select Current Setting, Click on Restart
